Founded in 1999
Sabor Foods began in Newark, NJ, as a restaurant “Sabor Latino” and quickly expanded to multiple locations across the state. During this time, we started producing our own fresh bread, tamales, and seasonal spice blends, laying the foundation for our commitment to handcrafted, authentic Latin flavors.

In 2020, we began baking organic bread using artisanal methods—staying true to our roots while focusing on health and nutrition. As supermarkets began seeking organic products that reflect the tastes of growing Latin communities, this propelled us into becoming a Consumer Packaged Goods brand, delivering bold Latin classics.

Our Story
Hola! I'm Jaime, this is our story.
In 1999, my family opened Sabor Latino in Newark, NJ, during a time when authentic Latin flavors were hard to find. Our restaurant quickly became a neighborhood staple and expanded as a Bakery.
Watching my family handcraft bread, tamales, and spices from scratch taught me that food deeply connects us to our culture and to one another.
While working as a Workforce Manager, I learned Latinos will make up 26% of the U.S. by 2050. But organic latin food still isn’t showing up on enough shelves, and that needed to change.
That moment sparked our evolution. Sabor Latino became Sabor Foods, bringing you better-for-you Latin classics inspired by family recipes. With over a million loaves sold, the journey’s just begun.
